A front door is one of the first things someone sees when approaching your home. It can set the tone for the design style it holds inside, it can be welcoming, inviting, or even intimidating. It seems that here in the U.S., we have such a “boring” interpretation of what a front door should look like. They’re usually white, sometimes with some glass, and if you want to get real crazy, you paint it a fun color (my mom always had ours red); but that’s usually about as exciting as it gets. Well, in other places around the world, I think they’ve got more of the right idea. Below are pictures I found (mostly on Pinterest) of doors from Morocco, Mexico, Paris, England, Argentina.. (well you get the idea) and I absolutely ADORE these doors. They have so much character! I love everything about them, the color, the hardware (or lack there of) & the history!
